THE "TIÓ"

Every year there's a very important celebration in Banyoles. It's called "Cagar el Tió".
This celebration is on 25th of December and it's a celebration in winter.
On the day of celebration I get up early becose I am very nervous. Me and my family get dressed for the party. After that we meet all family and "caguem el Tió" together.
I like "cagar el Tió" becose of all the gifts I have and that we can meet all the family. We also sing songs and dance.

Loud is the new album by R&B singer Rihanna. "I can't believe it's hte fifth album alredy," says the 22-year-old singer from Barbados. "The name of the album reflects its attitude. It gets your attention," she says. "I wanted songs that had that West Indian vibe... that tone and energy!"

Twilight is not a tradition story about good and evil. It is a series of four fantasy and romance novels about a teenager, Isabella Swan, who falls in love with a vampire called Edward Cullen. THe series is one of most popular written for teenagers and has sold over 17 million copies in 37 countries. The other books in the series, New Moon and Eclipse, follow the adventures of Isabella. The final book, Breaking Daw, is the grand finale.

POLAR BEARS

The animal in this photo is a polar bear.

Polar bears live in Artic, Canada, Russia, Greenland and Norway. They live and hunt on the ice. Polar bears usually eat seals. Femeles have two cubs every four or five years. Adult polar bears are 750 kilos. They can swim more than 150 kilometres.

The Artic ice is smaller because the climate is changing. Pollution is a problem, specially oil. Humans hunt polar bears in some areas.

Hi Cleo!

I’m very happy that you’re coming to stay with us next Thursday. Here’s some information about my timetable and my school.

School starts at 9 and there are six lessons every day. The lessons are 60 minutes. All subjects are compulsory. There are clubs after school, for example music, English lessons and sports.

People usually eat at school and eat the menu of school.

Has given us more friends.

It's easy to create a Facebook page. You can share your news, photos and videos with your friends and family. Facebook has got 500 millions users. But why is it so successful? Probably because we don't just want to hear what our friends are doing - we want to see it too. Facebook has been criticized for showing users' private information. It's also difficult to delete your account. But it's still the easiest way stay in touch with your friends!

Did you know? Facebook was created by Marc Zuckberg in 2004 in his bedroom at Harvard University.

Justin Bieber

Canadian singer: age 16.

Justin Bieber became famous at age 12. He got a record deal after his mother put some of his videos on YouTube and a music manager saw the videos. The 16-year-old Canadian is from a poor family. He taught himself to play the piano, drums, guitar and trumpet.
Today, he is an international star, and he sold more than 4 million albums in 2010. But Justin is also criticized. 
What does he think about this?
"There are more people that like me than there are who hate me," he says.
Justin has coach who helps him live with his fame. Sometimes, he feels lonley: "It doesen't matter where I am, as long as I have family and friends close to me.

If you have a little sister or brother, you'll love this film about Ramona Quimby, a girl with lots of imagination. BUt Ramona's big sister Beezous (Selena Gomez) thinks that she is annoying. When their father loses is job, Ramona makes crazy plans to help the family. Some of her ideas and is disaster, but they unite the two sisters... and they are sure to make you laugh!

Cody Simpson

Could this be the new Justin Bieber? Some people think so! 14-year-old Cody Simpson from AUstralia started recording songs in his bedroom in 2009. He put some songs on YouTube and was discovered by a record producer. His album 4U was Number Four in the USA. Not bad, Cody!

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

Johnny Depp is back as the world's favourite pirate, Jack Sparrow. In the fourth Pirates film, Jack meets Angelica, a woman from his past, played by Penelope Cruz. Je is not sure if she love him or of she want to find the Fountain of Youth. When Angelica takes Jack onto pirate Blackbeard's ship, Jack goes on another adventure. But who should he fear: Blackbeard or Angelica?

Recipe: American brownies.

You will need:

- 200 grammes butter.

- 125 grammes chocolate.

- 200 grammes sugar.

- 175 grammes flour.

- 3 eggs.

- 100 grammes chopped nuts.

Preparation:

1. Melt the butter and chocolate in a saucepan. Turn off heat.

2. Add sugar. Mix together. Add the eggs, flour and chopped nuts. Mix together.

3. Put the mixture into a greased oven dish.

4. Bake at 175ºC for 25 minutes.

5. Let the brownies cool. Cut them into squares.
